Twenty years dedicated to wine · from winemaking techniques to the journey between enology, strategy, and thought, across Bordeaux, Montalcino, and Rio Grande do Sul.
Food Engineer from UFRGS, Master in Wine Business Management from Université Paris Ouest in partnership with the International Organisation of Vine and Wine — OIV, Paris.
Sommelier graduated from the Brazilian Association of Sommeliers of Rio Grande do Sul (ABS-RS), where he served as president between 2021 and 2024 and currently holds the national vice-presidency. He directs the wine department at ABS-RS and coordinates the OIV master's program in Brazil.
International beverage consultant focusing on strategy and consumer behavior. He worked at the Mastrojanni winery in Montalcino, and has traveled through the main producing regions of the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
A work built between the laboratory, the classroom, and the table — where wine ceases to be just a beverage and becomes a language.
Wine is, above all, a way of reading the world · the earth, time, the human gesture. Teaching how to taste is teaching, also, how to perceive.
Beyond enology and market strategy, Júlio is a psychoanalyst — acting as a researcher and clinical therapist, with postgraduate degrees in ethics and philosophy from the University of Caxias do Sul and PUC-RS.
He publishes in the fields of consumer behavior, ethics, political philosophy, education, and psychoanalysis. He is also the author of a poetry book.
This humanistic background permeates everything he does with wine: taste as a form of attention, consumption as language, tasting as an act of listening.
Research and therapy. Listening as a foundation — of the subject and the palate.
Postgraduate at UCS and PUC-RS. Political philosophy and contemporary aesthetics.
Author of a poetry book and academic publications in multiple fields.
The Wine Expert Academy courses are built on two decades of Professor Júlio César Kunz's international work — bridging winemaking techniques and market strategy.
